Coming up on The Kiosk this week, we’re going to be talking music magazines. With State magazine about to launch in March, and Hot Press bracing itself for the burn, I’ll be talking to Phil Udell, editor of State, and Peter Murphy, senior journalist with Hot Press, about the music magazine industry in Ireland, and the rivalry between the two publications. Also, novelist and renowned Father Ted actress Pauline McLynn will be talking about her new theatre project, The Taming of the Shrew. Our reviewers Lisa Coen and Peter Crawley of the Irish Times will be reporting back on new play The Heights, that has just begun its run at the Project Arts Centre. And hopefully, assuming we can cram it in, I’ll be having a chat with funky Israeli-born singer-songwriter Yoav, who’s playing at Crawdaddy on Feb 6th. Tune in to the show Saturdays at 11am (repeated Sundays at 8am) on Phantom 105.2.
